Julie Plec finally gets Nina Dobrev to cross over shows to reprise the role of the original Petrova doppelganger, Tatia. She will be playing into the love triangle between two brothers once more.
Back in season 3, we saw Katerina aka Katherine meeting the Originals for the first time. Elijah brought her to Niklaus with the intent of offering her as a gift to his brother for completing the hybrid curse their mother had put on them. We saw the sparkle in Elijah’s eyes when he saw Katerina and we definitely witnessed the bond between the two in the fifth season. At that time, we could not help but wonder what had happened between them before Niklaus started to hunt her down.
Apparently Julie Plec was thinking along the same lines. We saw the eighteenth century Elijah and Niklaus fighting over Marcel but now we get to see both the brothers fighting over a girl. We’re not talking about Haley. We’re talking about the pre-historic times when Mama Mikaelson turned her children into vampires. Supposedly the Original vampires fell in love with the same girl. The Original Petrova doppelganger by the name of Tatia. Who might we ask should reprise the role of Tatia? The word ‘doppleganger’ is the key.
Yes, it will be our very own Nina Dobrev. Nina is not new to playing doppelgangers across different seasons. She plays the main character in The Vampire Diaries, Elena Gilbert and the main antagonist as well, Katherine Pierce aka Katerina Petrova. She played the Original doppelganger/anchor to the other side Amara. Amara and Silas were the original couple that set of the doppelganger chain to continueacross generations. Nina admitted back then she enjoyed playing a different role. She gets the chance once more to play another character in the series but this time its on the other show. Nina would be performing the role of Tatia on the Originals.
According to Plec, Tatia was the original Petrova doppelganger that both the Mikaelson brothers; Elijah and Niklaus fell in love with. There would be a lotof scandal and tragedy associated with Tatia’s character and Esther Mikaelson would kill Tatia to keep Niklaus from becoming a hybrid. A feat he achieved five thousand years later.
Pretty much like Stefan and Damon fell in love with Katherine and then Elena after hundred years. It would definitely be interesting to see Nina romancing yet another pair of brothers who were much more powerful. The beautiful girl who captured the eye of two brothers across generations has one face in reality. Nina feels excited to be on The Originals and says that playing Tatia would be exciting. She would be the second star from TVD featuring in the rip-off series after Michael Trevino. She will appear on The Originals on November 3 episode.
