Nissan has today launched its all-new Nissan Altima along with the Nissan Sylphy in the Filipino market. With the introduction of these two brand new two global sedans, Nissan renewed presence in the Philippines.
Today’s launch of twin global sedans marks the start of operations for the Nissan Motor Corporation in Philippines. They are the Nissan Altima and the Nissan Sylphy respectively. Nissan needed a ploy to find space in the Philippines and with these two luxury brands it seems to have found a niche for itself there.
The qualities of the Altima make it a wonderful vehicle to drive down the road. The design is super-streamlined and the level of seating pleasure it gives, both to the driver and the passengers, make it a beautiful car indeed.
The all-new Nissan Altima contains a QR25 or VQ35DE engine. Furthermore, the Xtronic transmission lends proper acceleration that really makes the car move like a speed demon. And the fuel economy looks to be good too. You /4/twist and turn the vehicle any which way you like while driving it.
Meanwhile, the all-new Nissan Sylphy is more than what meets the eye. It has a range of services which it has on hold for its driver. Besides the most efficient fuel economy, it features an MRA8DE or a GR16DE engine. And as usual the Xtronic transmission is there to boot.
“The introduction of Altima and Sylphy represents Nissan’s renewed presence in the Philippines with true global resources and a strong commitment to the market,” said Takao Katagiri, Nissan Motor Corporation executive vice president. “Today marks the start of a new chapter for Nissan in the Philippines and one that I am very proud to be part of.”
The show must go on and so at the launch event in the Philippines, Nissan displayed some of its motorsport technologies. Nissan plans to churn out almost 9000 models of the two cars in the Filipino-sphere. It must match the supply to the demand of course. That would do full justice to the rich Filipinos who can afford an Altima or a Sylphy.
Other than that the slogan “One Nissan, One Direction” says it all. Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has begun its operations as the new national sales company for the Philippines on March 1st, 2014. NPI sets an ambitious goal to sell over 8,900 units in fiscal year 2014.
“The establishment of Nissan Philippines brings Nissan in the Philippines together into one, stronger entity – ‘One Nissan, One Direction’,” said Kenji Naito, president of NPI. “I am confident that NPI will pave the way to a bolder and more proactive Nissan in this fast-growing market, with a strengthened brand and enhanced sales power.”
The fact that with the changing times, there are people who have become affluent enough to afford slightly costlier fare means that Nissan sees an opportunity in the Third World for its cars.
