The 90s sitcom Full House was very popular. Such reunions are not new for Super Bowl ads. They usually work quite well if the ad turns out funny. The teaser of the Oikes Super Bowl 2014 ad is not that funny. It also just aims to reveal the Full House reunion. I hope the actual ad will have a strong and funny story. This is over 100,000 more views than the Volkswagen Super Bowl 2014 Ad teaser with Carmen Electra.
The Dannon Oikos advertisement will run during the fourth quarter of the game on February 2, 2014 and is part of a fully-integrated campaign including an experiential activation in New York City and the launch of Dannon Oikos food trucks. The experiential activation will begin on January 29 to give New Yorkers an incredible opportunity to re-associate delicious Dannon Oikos yogurt with a better-for-you game day celebration. Visitors are invited to stop by for a boost of laughter and take a break from the cold and craziness of New York City during the week leading up to game day.
Dannon also chose a unique approach to creating the ad. The concept for the commercial was crowdsourced among a select group of top talent from Poptent, the video production platform that enables brands and agencies to collaborate with over 70,000 independent filmmakers from all over the world. The creative execution of the ad was brought to life by Vinizius/Y&R.
Super Bowl 2014 will take place in New Jersey on February 2, 2014. The big game will be played in the Metlife stadium in East Rutherford. It will be the first outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl.
