One Direction searching New Direction after Zayn Malik

Zayn announced his decision to quit One Direction after five years has the fans crying and mourning all over the world as his band mates and friends cope with the news in their own way.

In 2010, Simon Cowell had the genius ingenuity to put together five young singers to form a single boy group called One Direction on X Factor. The boy band lost the show but won over the world. One Direction became the world’s No. 1 boy band around the world selling numerous albums, winning multiple awards around the globe and received the love of millions of fans worldwide; all in five brief years. 

The band has their own merchandise, they interacted with their fans on Twitter and Facebook and their songs were sung by fans and non-fans as well. What everyone failed to really acknowledge was the close media and worldwide scrutiny on the boys’ lives as well as the hectic schedules which had them working and traveling around the clock. When you also have a relationship to maintain, the circumstances might force their hand and they might have to make decisions regarding their lives.

Zayn Malik seems to have done exactly that as he finally called it quits on Wednesday. He had already left the band’s current Asian tour due to stress and he was expected to rejoin his band mates in Capetown. That never happened because the news reached his band mates as they went on stage to perform in Jakarta. Harry Styles who had made his hair just like Zayn broke into tears as the other three came on stage as well and Louis Tomlinson put his arm around the imaginary figure of Zayn and the entire stadium was chocked up.

The official Facebook page announced Zayn’s statement for leaving the band. He admitted that the previous five years he had spent in the band had been incredible and amazing but he wanted to live his life like a normal 22 years old. He apologized to his fans for quitting the band and he assured everyone that he will always stay close to the rest of his band mates who are now his friends for life. His band mates expressed their views briefly on Twitter. Harry sent all his love simply to Zayn and Liam tweeted that he was thankfully in bed after very exhausting 24 hours.

The fans have taken to social media with tweets and gifs and artwork to mourn Zayn leaving the band. Many trends related to Zyan’s departure from 1D are now currently trending in top 10 US twitter tends. These include #AlwaysInOurHeartsZaynMalik , #LETSBUYONEDIRECTION #ZaynWillAlwaysBeAPartOf1D, #ZaynPain and many more.

The judges of X Factor have also shared their views about Zayn leaving. Simon thanked Zayn for his commitment to the band. He also said he was very fond of him and that’s an achievement for anyone considering Simon Cowell’s reputation.

Louis Walsh commented while speaking on the Irish radio station RTE Radio One that Perrie Edwards was maybe to blame for Zayn’s decision. He said that it often happens that singers girlfriends tell them what to do and tell them to go solo and that’s what might have happened to Zayn.

Sinitta also had something to say on Good Morning Britain. She agreed partially with what Walsh had said. She remembered Zayn from the X Factor days and said that he had always been shy. He was most susceptible to crack under pressure of the fame and work. It was like a bubble that was filled with hectic schedules, strenuous traveling hours and a lot of scrutiny. Zayn was most probable to break under the pressure even five years ago.

While fans are begging for Zayn to come back, it has to be respected that he made a decision on some logic and after due consideration. His band mates will be continuing on their world tour and start working on their new album due to release at the end of this year. So while mourning Zayn, fans should also remember to support the reason why they loved him. 1D.
