Powdered Alcohol Palcohol is approved for Sale

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has approved the controversial Palcohol for sale in the United States.

Palcohol has been approved by the Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau for sale in the United States. Mark Phillips the creator of the powered alcohol says on his site that the first product will be on sale this summer.

The powdered alcohol has raised a controversy already a year ago when it first surfaced. Several States have already moved to ban powdered alcohol. The reasons include potential unlawful use of the easy to transport alcohol. Some also say that underage drinking would be an issue. Powered alcohol comes in small pouches that could also be sneaked into alcohol free venues.

The Palcohol company sees the issue completely different. In a statement announcing the approval Palcohol claims that the liquor industry is lobbying lawmakers to ban powdered alcohol.

The company makes the case that prohibition proofed to be counter productive. They also make the case that powdered alcohol has many more uses than just having a drink. There are potential medical uses in first aid kids for remote locations as antiseptic and in manufacturing as component of windshield wiper fluid.

Palcohol also sees us drinking powdered alcohol on airplanes as airlines would save a lot of space. My main question is though if powdered alcohol does taste good as good as the real stuff.

The inspiration for powdered alcohol comes from enjoying a drink hiking or camping without having to carry around heavy bottles. The first available base Palcohol flavors are vodka and rum. There will be special cocktail versions like Cosmo and Margarita.
