Reports just came in that Snapdragon 810 does not carry any heating issues, and the performance is much better than Exynos 7420.
Samsung dropped Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset from becoming a part of Galaxy S6 smartphone due to heat issues, a few months back. The tech giant came up with its own chipset Exynos 7420, claiming it’s the best out there. However, the analysts have given their verdict after falsifying all the rumors roaming around for some time now. Reports just came in that Snapdragon 810 does not carry any heating issues, and the performance is much better than Exynos 7420.
In order to test the performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 was used in a tablet. Briefly describing the tests, the change in the processor’s performance was dependent upon the nature of the test. According to the tests performed, Snapdragon 810 achieved the top spot in the list, as the results revealed that Snapdragon 810’s performance was 30% better than Snapdragon 805 as well as Exynos 5433 processors. Snapdragon 810 also disappointed in a few tests such as WebXPRT, as it appeared to be struggling to beat the heat issues.
The new chipset also displayed unsatisfactory results when SoC’s memory was put through its pace. The test results revealed no advantage over Snapdragon 805 as well as Exynos 5433. Despite its average performance in a number of tests, Snapdragon 810 certainly carries better CPU performance as compared to its previous 805 and 801 series. Though most of the results are not related to the heat issues, however, there is much room available for further enhancement.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 was actually able to beat Exynos 7420 in 7 out of 12 categories. As mentioned earlier, it was also proved that Snapdragon 810 did not carry any heating issues, as it worked by emitting less heat as compared to its previous Snapdragon 801. There were a number of growing concerns by smartphone manufacturers after hearing rumors regarding Snapdragon 810 over heating issues.
Many Android and Windows powered smartphone handsets are in coordination with Qualcomm for Snapdragon 810 chipset. Since the aggressive testing of the latest Snapdragon 810 has been accomplished, all those growing concerns can be wiped away. Qualcomm’s market share /4/get affected since Samsung Galaxy S6 has planned to apply its own Exynos chipset. In addition, the bigger China mobile industry is also looking for alternate chipset makers. Therefore, the forecast for Qualcomm /4/not appear so promising, considering the current circumstances.
