- Vanderpump gone?
- Kim Richards fired?
- Sobriety or bust.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Lisa Vanderpump and Kim Richards /4/be gone, but for very different reasons. One is successful with multiple business ventures while the other /4/need to time to get healthy.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills haven’t faced an easy off season. First, Kim Richards went MIA after a disastrous break from rehab for daughter Brooke’s wedding. And now fan-favorite Lisa Vanderpump is playing coy over returning to one of Bravo’s flagship shows.
Speaking to ET, the Pump owner grinned at the camera, saying, “I don’t know. I mean, I’ve done five years and it’s been an incredible time. It’s up to Bravo.” Of course, her spin-off Vanderpump Rules has just started filming for the next season, so she isn’t going leave Bravo entirely if leaving one show.
While Vanderpump Rules centers on a young, dysfunctional group of servers at Sur, the RHOBH star reminds audiences that there’s more than just reality television. “I’m running my businesses, and doing my charities.” That doesn’t mean she’s taking Bravo’s opportunities for granted, though. “It’s always been an amazing experience.”
With “everybody’s talking, doing negotiations,” it’s easy to wonder who else /4/decide to leave or be fired. However, Bravo doesn’t usually announce lineup changes this early. After all, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fifth season just ended in April. And the new seasons usually don’t premiere until November. So there’s some time to decide.

But Kim Richards /4/be out for good. Sources told Us Weekly `”producers really have no interest in bringing her back to the show.” Viewers have threatened to stop watching the glamourous life of Hollywood wives as addiction and stress seemed to weigh heavy on the spiraling child star.
Another source told the magazine, “The show didn’t trigger her addiction — and her recovery also needs to happen outside of it.”
Richards left rehab to attend her daughter’s wedding in Mexico, where reports indicated erratic behavior. Even her sober coach quit, leaving the resort and Mexico before the end of the stay. Manufactured drama and petty arguments are expected, but watching the Escape to Witch Mountain actress seem to fall deeper into a dark mental place isn’t going to promote a positive experience.
E! Online broke the story on Wednesday, indicating a network decision to place Richards’ mental health above ratings. This past season saw the introduction of soap actresses Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna, both who showed concern over their new castmate’s behavior. Rinna attempted to broach the subject, but Kim rebuked any attempt at discussion. Even saying at the reunion that her sobriety was off the table.
Kim later told Dr. Phil that during the last few months of filming she drank a few times on set, but felt”ashamed to say anything.” Also revealing to Dr. Phil that “living through a season on a show, sometimes it’s hard to just get through it. The fans are really hard on me.” Calling herself a strong person, she admitted to not “working a program,” which turned out to be detrimental to maintaining sobriety.

Since returning from Mexico, this is her fourth attempt at rehab. At the latest Beverly Hills reunion, the vicious and angry words between Richards and her sister Kyle veered into familiar, toxic territory. Shades of the final episode of first season, where Kyle outed Kim’s lack of sobriety, and the idea of holding secrets. And this time, the Kim and Kyle Richards stopped speaking entirely.
A source told E that Richards is “doing OK, a lot better than she had been.” It’s never bad to move on from a charge of public intoxication, resisting, obstruction, delaying emergency personnel and hitting a cop.
Vanderpump is one of the remaining original series stars, along with the Richards sisters, so she’s watched the Disney star’s life spiral out of control for the past five seasons.
“I know she’s been going through a lot, you know, and I just hope she gets help.” Adding that while she hasn’t spoken with Kim recently, “she needs” the help and chance at recovery. Us Weekly’s second source pointed out “there’s no interest in putting her back on television unless she’s addressed her issues.”
The queen of pink also squashed some rumors since the news hasn’t trickled down to the cast on what will happen, Bravo’s remaining quiet on any changes as it effects the production until decisions are made. “When the dynamic changes, it always affects the show but nothing has been decided about anybody that’s going back.”
