Rolling Stones Kicks off Zip Code Tour in San Diego

The iconic band will perform in 15 North American cities till the July 15

Rolling Stones brought high energy back to the stage on Sunday as they kicked off their two-month long Zip Code tour in San Diego. The Petco Park was mesmerized by the two hours and 15 minutes performance of the iconic rock band.

Gary Clark Jr. set the tone with his vigorous opening act before Rolling Stones got into the act and entertained the sellout crowd with their 20 hit songs including Brown Sugar, Bitch, Moonlight Mile and Can’t You Hear Me Knocking from their 1971 album “Sticky Fingers” which has been rereleased in North America on June 9.

The members of the legendry band, who were all dressed up in coordinated outfits of purple and blue, started off their performance with the “Jumpin’ Jack Flash and ended on “I Can’t Get Go” Satisfaction with Mick Jagger going back and forth repeatedly throughout the show.

“It’s great to be back here at Petco Park, Mick Jagger said. He reminded the crowd that Rolling Stones “was the first band to perform at Pecto Park, back in 2005.” The 71-year old singer also praised the hospitality of the people. “The Petco people have been very nice to us. They provided all the backstage catering. I personally like the chicken and venison tin.”

The show was witnessed by a huge crowd of 42,000, including celebrities like Christina Aguileria, singer Chris Martin, basketball legend Bill Walton and movie actors Matt Damon and Katie Holmes. San Diego was the first of the 15 cities where Rolling Stones are scheduled to perform their Zip Code Tour. This is their first tour since “14 On Fire” in Abu Dhabi which started on February 21, 2014 and lasted almost nine months.

The next destination will be Columbus, Ohio, starting on /4/30th. The tour will end on July 15 in Quebec City, Canada.
