Ryan Callahan Turns Against Rangers to Lead Lightning With 5-1 Victory

The fact that some supporters had turned up in jerseys that had his name printed on them meant that he still enjoys a big support. However, his performance did not go down well with his former supporters as they reacted to his first score by booing him.

It took the intervention of a clip that showed him with other players who left Rangers to cool down the angered crowds. The legends included Brian Boyle and Anton Stralman. The caption “Thanks for the memories. We salute you,” was included in the clip and it’s probably what changed the mood of Rangers fans.

Though the clip was shown to send a certain message to those who were booing him, Callahan felt that the video should not have been played because Rangers fans were simply being themselves.

“They didn’t have to do that,” Callahan said. “That’s the Rangers organization. It shows how classy they are. The fans cheering — that shows how classy they are.”The win helps, but I really enjoyed my first time back here.”

Rangers coach, Alain Vigneault, was disappointed by the turn of events because he had hoped for a win because his boys had a strong start only for them to lose their chances later. “It’s very tough to explain,” Vigneault said.

“We had a good start. They scored that goal and seemed to get momentum. We had a good start in the second, forced them into a few penalties, and then they scored. “Other than the start to both periods, everything in between was just a total disaster.”
