Ryan Gosling to star in Blade Runner 2

The sequel to the 1982 sci-fi classic will also star Harrison Ford, playing the same character as was in the original movie

Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to Alcon Entertainment for joining Blade Runner 2, according to a report of Variety.

The film is a sequel to 1982 science fiction film, starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer and Sean Young. The “Prisoners” director Dennis Villeneuve will direct “Blade Runner 2” while the director of the first film Ridley Scott will fulfill the responsibilities of the producer this time around. Original writer Hampton Fancher again co-wrote the script alongside a new partner Michael Green. The story of the new film takes place several decades after the conclusion of 1982 film.

It has been reported that Harrison Ford who was the lead actor of the original film praised the storyline, claiming this is the best thing he’s ever read. The shooing is expected to begun in the mid of 2016.

The original “Blade Runner”, released in 1982, illustrates the dystopian 2019 Los Angeles. The idea was loosely based around Philip K. Dick’s 1968 novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”.  Hampton Fancher and Ridley Scott made quite a bit changes for making film adaptation.

Harrison Ford, who played detective Rick Deckard in the original film, will reprise his role. There is no information about which role Ryan Gosling is to play. In the meantime, 34 years old Ryan Gosling is busy in filming “The Nice Guys” costarring Russle Crowe and “The Big Short”, opposing Christian Bale and Brad Pitt.

It is yet to be seen whether the sequel be able to bring some kind of magic which has been brought by the original film in 1982.
