Samsung wants to talk about the subject of health later this month.
Samsung is sending out invitations to an event in San Francisco on /4/28. According to the invitation, the event will focus on the issue of health, although Samsung didn’t proffer additional details.
It’s worth noting that Samsung already announced a slew of fitness-focused wearables earlier this year. So, announcing a similar product will be too early, unless Samsung is planning to spam the consumer electronics market again with its products.
Engadget pointed out that the invitation came from Samsung’s semiconductor division, which could mean that the event will be more about components and not about, say, another Gear Fit.
Interestingly, Apple’s WWDC is just around the corner. And, according to previous rumors, Apple could launch a new health and fitness app called Healthbook.
Samsung’s sudden announcement could be another attempt to pre-empt Apple’s event. Samsung is known for these strategies, but in the end, it’s all about the results. We’ll see how this turns out later this month.
