Sandra Bullock is World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2015

For the first time ever, Sandra Bullock is People’s Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman.

The People have spoken, or at least People Magazine did when it named Sandra Bullock the most beautiful woman alive in 2015. Bullock, 50, has had a long and prosperous career, but has never had the honor of covering this issue of the magazine. Lupita Nyong’o had the honor in 2014, and Gwyneth Paltrow had it in 2013.

Sandra Bullock insists she just laughed when she heard about the honor. “No, really. I just said, ‘That’s ridiculous,’ ” she tells PEOPLE. “I’ve told no one.” 

The actress, who doesn’t have any major projects to publicize at this time, seemed subdued about the honor: “Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it’s just so hard not to say, ‘Oh, I need to look like that,’ ” she told People. “No, be a good person; be a good mom; do a good job with the lunch; let someone cut in front of you who looks like they’re in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren’t trying.”

The Gravity actress tells a different story about her beauty, focusing on her inner development instead of her outer beauty. The article focuses on her relationship with her son: “I was putting him to bed and told him that even when I’m old and gray and more wrinkly than I am now, I’ll still love him and want to tuck him in,” she said. “And he asked why I have wrinkles, and I said, ‘Well, I hope some of them are from laughing so much.’ And he touched my face and said, ‘You’re not old, you’re just happy.’ “

Also making the “most beautiful” cut this year: Gabrielle Union, Ariana Grande and Laverne Cox.
