Selfie Shoes: Another April Fools’ Joke?

The US small scale shoe retailers introduces the newest Selfie Shoes in an ad which is yet to be confirmed as an April Fool’s prank or not.

Miz Mooz is a small New York footwear retailer company that recently launched an ad for their newest product, the Selfie Shoes. According to the ad, getting the perfect nowadays has become more important than ever.

The selfie stick has been a step forward in the innovation of taking selfies without creating the usual hassle of limited space and angles that was the problem when taking it by hand. However, carrying around a selfie stick has become a new hassle. 

Cheryl Matson, the Design Director of Miz Mooz admits that the company realizes the importance of looking great without loosing comfort.

She said that selfie stick was a great solution to a problem but in turn it created a new problem of setting it up everytime, syncing it, taking the selfie and then putting it back. Miz Mooz realized it as an opportunity for new innovation. The Selfie Shoes.

Miz Mooz claims that no matter where you go, you can just insert the phone in the pre-designed toe section of the shoe. Stretch your leg to the perfect angle and snap away the selfie with touching a motion sensor with your toe.

This has the added advantage of getting a wider angle and having both hands free to be in the selfie.

The shoe portal has a docking socket which will ensure that the phone stays fixed inside the shoe. Both the shoes in the pair will be able to hold the shoe enabling a wider angular range to the user. 

Andrew Fried, the company’s chief innovation officer admitted that the company was super pumped about the product. He said that in an era of wearable devices, the possibilities are endless. The next steps would to make them rechargeable or waterproof. So it is just the start for a new designer range of new kind of technology friendly footwear.

Miz Mooz has offered up the pair for $199 to be ordered online on their official website. While it is being determined by sources whether the product is actually up for sale and not just an April Fool’s prank, there are order already coming in and the waitlist to buy the shoes is already extensive.
