The tech giant steps into the world of Virtual Reality and starts work on a VR headset for PS4
With technology, the consumer expectations have been soaring higher than ever before and when we pay the price for technology we surely want to discover newer worlds and now it is even possible to want to experience made up worlds with the new world of virtual reality. And many companies have been trying hard to get hold of this technology to provide the utmost exclusive experience to their customers and now Sony has joined the bandwagon too. There is however one catch to the implemenation of this concept and it is regardless of which company is making the efforts. This is all because of the large amount of limitations that this VR concept has met with a lot of criticism.

Talking of this VR world, Valve and Oculus VR seem to be on the fron row with this one and next is the tech giant Sony which is throwing in its efforts to come up with something based on this technology which we will actually want to make use of. Sony unveiled its new VR technology at an event taking place at this year’s Game Developers Conference and the project has been named as Morpheus. The headset alone shouts out technology from every angle with a 90-degree field of vision via its 1080p LCD screen. So far a lengthy cable is required to connect the device with the PS4 but we are expecting a wireless product soon.
Richard Marks, from the Sony Magic Lab is in charge of the project and he was also behind the EyeToy camera as well as the doomed PlayStation Move and both these are going to be used up with the new headset; the camera would be used for facial tracking and the Move will be used as a way of control. At the moment Sony has shown keen interest in making the project into a real shipping product soon but it is still a long wait before we get to try on the blue helmets.
