The phone fully supports US LTE networks on both T-Mobile and AT&T’s networks
Sony has some great news for those customers who want to get the Xperia Z1 but are not so enthusiastic about signing a contract. As it appears, the company has taken care of this problem. They have rolled out an unlocked version of the Z1 which provides full support for the US LTE networks on both T-Mobile and AT&T’s networks. It will also function on the Canadian LTE networks. However, this good news comes with a catch. Sony is providing a certain advantage to its users and obviously we didnt expect it to be free. For this version of the phone you will have to pay $620 which seems a lot considering that the phone came out in September 2013.
This is another sign which shows Sony’s willingness to move towards openness and create a trend of unlocked versions of phones. There were codes released for previous phones of Sony and this made it easier for the Android customers to play around with the phone and this also made room for customization. This seems to be a clever move by Sony because there has been a positive trend towards customization and one of the biggest selling points (that Android fans won’t let you forget) is how customizable Google’s mobile OS can be.
