Not to be outdone with Samsung’s mouth-watering unboxing video of the Galaxy Note 4, Sony’s flagship phone, the Xperia Z3, is now being featured in what could be the world’s first underwater unboxing. The crazy, one-of-a-kind unboxing concept is the brainchild of Carphone Warehouse, the popular U.K-based phone retailer.
The end goal of the video is to highlight the Xperia Z3’s waterproof capabilities. “We dived into a pool with a brand new Xperia Z3 to prove that it’s waterproof while showing you exactly what’s in the box,” Carphone Warehouse said.
The three-minute video begins with a Carphone Warehouse employee donning a submersible headgear that has a microphone on it. He doesn’t waste time and unboxes the Xperia Z3 immediately. You can clearly see in the video that the box and manuals are utterly soaked and razed into pieces.
Halfway in the video, the guy takes a selfie and even bothers to take pictures of his crew. As expected from a waterproof phone, the Xperia Z3 was working the entire time. The video is obviously a marketing stunt meant to lure more buyers. Nevertheless, it’s a cool video to watch. Here’s the video:
