We might think that Spotify has crossed and done with that stage where you have to convince more people to try out services and get memberships. Once the three months are over, users will be asked to get a membership starting at the usual $9.99 per month. This approach seems to have a brilliant marketing tactic; it is very unlikely that the users who would have spent so much time building playlists and getting used to the service would think about leaving now. They would certainly want to be in for the real deal.

As the popularity has spread across, Spotify has stretched its platform too and has incorporated new versions too apart from the Web app. It has now launched editions for Windows, OS X, Android, iOS and Windows Phone and he offer of $0.99 for the first three months is available on all of these platforms.
