Twitter launches new vine app for kids

it is a simple new app that gives young children a fun way to watch Vines.

Whether adults or kids, the internet has become an important part of everyone’s lives. Unlike us, kids nowadays get exposed to the internet even before they learn how to start talking or walking. However, this has also become a cause of concern for parents because there is all sorts of content which is inappropriate for kids and Twitter realizes that just fine. The social networking boss has launched a new version of its Vine video-sharing app which is designed for children and will filter out the inappropriate content.

Initially the Vine Kids has been launched for the iPhone and is going to offer a feed of “hand-selected” six-second looping videos from Vine’s community. Parents can finally relax because their kids will no longer be seeing swearing, twerking or other forms of adult content along with an addition of a group of animated characters to host the app.

Vine’s Carolyn Penner took to a blog post for announcing the new app where he wrote “We’ve seen for ourselves – and heard from parents, siblings and others – that kids love Vine.” The app was developed in the company’s “Hack Week” when employees work on the sideline projects.

“The idea came about during an office conversation in early January. One of my colleagues was talking about how much his two-year-old daughter loves Vine – he said he wished there was a separate app she could use to more easily watch posts that are appropriate for kids,” explained Penner.

Most of the video clips are chosen carefully for the kids which include cats and dogs, with singing eggs, Elmo from Sesame Street, animated aliens and a piano-playing hedgehog also making an appearance.
