Uber hires Tom Fallows for its own Same-Day Delivery Service?

Tom Fallows isn’t any ordinary Google employee, he is the creator of Google’s same-day delivery service called Google Express.

Tom Fallows was responsible for creating Google Express. Google Express helps you with delivery of goods on the same day your order them. That is why people are saying that Uber have hired Google’s same day delivery boss. If people still don’t believe the news then we would like to tell you that Google confirmed Tom’s departure from the company.

Tom’s statement about Google was released by Google (via Recode) and he said, “It’s been awesome to help this team build Google Express from just a concept to a national service with paying members and dozens of merchant partners”. He also said that even though he is going to another company, he will be really be excited to watch Google Express grow.

Tom Fallows’ old boss thanked him from his great work and also said that Google Express has become a hit and people love it. Tom Fallows had the idea of Google Express a long time ago. He pitched the idea to the management some years ago.

Google are still to name Tom Fallows’ successor. At first when we thought about buying anything online, Amazon would come into our minds. But now people are familiar with Google Express and it is competing with Amazon. Amazon makes it possible for its users to get their purchased products in two days.

Google Express now makes it possible for people to get their product on the same day of their order. This is why people are coming towards Google Express now. If you pay Google Express $95 a year, you could get unlimited same day deliveries of products if you buy from Target, Walgreens and Costco. Google also claims that the people that are looking at their ads are actually buying their products.

When Uber hired Tom Fallows, it became clear that Uber want to get into the delivery services. Uber has already started with a messenger service in NYC. They have also held a household good delivery experiment in DC. Uber has had a food delivery test in California. When the company raised $1.2 billion in June, the CEO said that Uber had the capability to deliver but said that it was still early for such initiatives.

Bloomberg Businessweek quoted the company CEO saying, “The logistics, or moving things as well as people is icing on the cake. He said that the company is busy in different kinds of experiments and they want to see how things work out.”

It is still now clear what Tom Fallows is going to be doing at Uber. We still don’t know whether he has signed a non-compete clause with Google. If he signs the non-compete, then Tom Fallows won’t be able to work on any delivery related business for Uber. Uber might had signed him as an advisor. It is really weird to see Tom Fallow going to Uber because Google is already investing in Uber.
