TNA, has reportedly made a move to sign CM Punk, the wrestler who famously walked out of a January taping of WWE ‘Raw’
Since many of us have been wondering about whether CM Punk would ever come back to join WWE, here is a little thought to settle down our inquisitions and you will be disappointed if you had been waiting for him to come back to RAW after he famously walked out of a January taping and never returned. Well, according to the latest news reports, WWE’s biggest competitor TNA has decided to sign him up.
WrestlingInc.com explains how TNA managed to get to CM Punk;
This was done similarly to how they reached out to Alberto Del Rio, through an intermediary who is friends with Punk. The idea pitched was said to be a huge deal for Punk to be the top star of the company with pay similar to what Hulk Hogan was making. The idea is that Punk could be TNA’s flagship star and if he signs now, he could help get a strong TV deal.
A few months back we heard about TNA having to go though some problems as they were having a hard time keeping SpikeTV interested in airing their programming and it was by August that the company confirmed that its Wednesday night program “Impact Wrestling” will only air on Spike TV through the end of the year. TNA President Dixie Carter said in a press release that “Negotiations remain ongoing beyond this time frame.”
With the signing up of CM Punk, TNA is definitely getting a chance to get back on the track as they would have their hands on one of pro wrestling’s biggest ratings draws.
