Furious 7 becomes 5th Highest Grossing Movie of All Times

Furious 7 crosses Frozen and Iron Man 3 on the Worldwide Box Office.

Furious 7 has been out for 4 weeks now and has made many records over this time. However the recent accomplishment that the Vin Diesel and Paul Walker starrer has earned is that it has crossed Frozen on the Box Office this weekend. This means that the Furious 7 is a bigger worldwide hit than Disney’s Frozen.

The seventh Fast and Furious film has grossed $1.32 billion in worldwide earnings this weekend pushing it ahead of Frozen’s $1.27 billion and Iron man 3’s 1.21 billion totals.

This puts the Fast 7 at number 5 on the list of highest grossing movies of all time and is just behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 which stands at $1.34 billion, according to Box Office Mojo

Domestically the Fast 7 has grossed around $320.5 million which amounts to 24.3 percent of the total earnings. While overseas the Fast 7 has grossed $1 billion which amounts to 75.7 percent of the total earnings.

The films popularity can be attributed to the death of Paul Walker who played the character of Brian O’Connor in the Fast and Furious franchise. The ending of the movie was a tribute to the actor and had made many cry.

Apart from this the top grossing movie on the Box Office is Avatar which was released in 2009 and is followed by none other than Titanic which was released in 1997.
