It is as simple as this: if you ever want a new Sims game, you better buy the one that just came out.

It is a generally accepted rule that the games which don’t make it to the scales of popularity are generally dropped out and the ones that are really quick in developing a strong fan base are usually the ones that end up getting their own sequels. But this rule is not consistently followed in the gaming world and this is derived from our view of the Arx Fatalis 2. It is not every day that we see a developer as blunt as the developer of Sims 4 Producer Grant “SimGuruGrant” Rodiek who said a new Sims game would only come if the one in the market gets sold.

This issue arose when a user on a forum commented about the features which he thought should be included on the Sims 5. “We’re not working on Sims 5. We’re not thinking about Sims 5,” he wrote. “If Sims 4 isn’t successful, there won’t be a Sims 5.” If we talk in some pretty realistic terms then the Sims 5 is something really close to reality because it is an established fact that the Sims is a hugely lucrative franchise for Electronic Arts and the Sims 4 is no exception. So it is very much likely that the trend would continue to grow.
