Watch Miley Cyrus Singing ‘Androgynous’ with Joan Jett and Laura Jane

Miley reaches out to the public for her new charity for the homeless teenagers The Happy Hippie Foundation for which she is recording and posting Backyard Sessions on her Facebook account, her first with Laura Jane Grace and Joan Jett on the song Androgynous

Miley had shown keen interest in helping out the homeless youth. She elaborated her interest by bringing one of them as her date at the VMAs and letting him deliver a speech in her stead about his condition. Although the teen got arrested a few days later, Miley seems to have taken the cause to her heart and seems keen on fighting for it. 

That might be the reason behind establishing her new charity by the name of The Happy Hippie Foundation. It is a charity to help out the homeless youth and their families by raising funds for them. Miley has achieved a lot of empathy to understand the cause of her charity first.

She became aware of the demographics and statistics about the homeless people. She found out that it is mostly LGBT people who are homeless because of lack of acceptance about their gender.

Miley said in an interview in Good Morning America that she feels for these people. She might not be in their shoes but she knows what it’s like to not feel that she should be any lesser being a girl.

She said that not being a boy has never stopped her from pursuing anything and she would like that for everyone. She said she wanted everyone to have a fair chance at being helped and listened without being judges for their age or gender.

Miley is not begging for typical charity from the people. She is earning it. Lately Miley endorsed a series of Backyard Sessions in which she will be performing to acoustic tunes with guest stars that will be significant to the cause.

Her latest guest was the transgender rocker front woman Laura Jane Grace and rock legend Joan Jett. The trio performed an emotional yet soulful version of the song “Androgynous.”

Having Laura represented the LGBT community demographic Miley wanted to touch. She shared the video of the session on her Instagram captioned; #TrueTransSoulRebel with @laurajanegrace and@atomwillardisme of #AgainstMe! is on my Facebook now!!! @happyhippiefdn #HappyHippiePresents#backyardsessions

She also posted the video of the performance on her Facebook account with a Donate option on the side so the people watching the video can donate directly to the HH Foundation. 

Miley added that there will be more sessions to come soon and they would be just as great.
