U2 along with Jimmy Fallon have been giving surprise performances all over the New York Subway!
The band U2 along with Jimmy Fallon has been subjecting New Yorkers to surprise performance on the subway for the past few weeks. U2 is slated to appear on the ‘The Tonight Show’ by Jimmy Fallon on Friday night and have been filming bits of performances on the subway as they will be the only guests on the show.
On Monday the travelers on the New York City’s Grand Central Station were given a surprise as the band gave a performance and recorded a segment for ‘The Tonight Show’.
Joined by Jimmy Fallon himself the members of the band wore disguises as they first started performing. The disguises included wigs and rather than drums the drummer Larry Mullen Jr. even used buckets to keep their identity concealed.

Eventually the band revealed itself and surprised the onlookers with their performance. The band then performed their 1988 hit song ‘Angel of Harlem’ as the crowd sang along with them on the platform of the Grand Central.

The celebrity chef Mario Batali was also spotted in the crowd of onlookers watching U2’s performance on Grand Central but it’s not confirmed whether he was part of the act or a just a by-stander.
Previously in the week Jimmy Fallon the U2 frontman Bono were seen re-enacting the bicycle crash Bono suffered a few months ago which resulted in serious injuries. The pair seemed to be spoofing the crash which occurred in the New York City Central Park and made U2 cancel its week long commitment to appear on ‘The Tonight Show’ previously.
Bono had difficulty playing the guitar even five months after the crash in November 2014 but he seems to have recovered completely. Fallon and Bono were both seen riding bikes and the segment will also be part of the special appearance by U2 on Friday night.
