Xiaomi is rumored to unveil its new flagship smartphone at January’s big event
The top mobile phone manufacturers continue to be intensely rumored to reveal new devices in the upcoming CES 2015, as Xiaomi is said to be unveiling its new MI5 smartphone in the particular event.
The rumor has originated from a report on a Chinese news website, called MyDrivers, which claims not only the revelation of the Xiaomi MI5 smartphone but also mentions its possible specification.
According to the report, Sun Changxu, a renowned mobile telecom analyst, claims that the Xiaomi MI5 will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa Core Processor. That means the device is included in the very first batch of smartphones that feature the particular chip.
Along with the Octa Core processor, Xiaomi MI5 will feature Adreno 430 GPU, which will provide the users with an outstanding gaming experience. The smartphone will have a display of 5.7-inch, which has a resolution of 1440 x 2560. Similar to the iPhone, it will sport a fingerprint scanner. More interestingly, it will feature a 20.7 MP camera, which is quite similar to the Meizu MX4.
The information about the specification looks very logical. As the MI5 is going to be Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone, it must contain the high-end components, similar to the rumored specification. Moreover, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa Core processor is very likely to be shipped in the early part of the next year, which strongly suggests about the inclusion of the chip in the MI5.
The price of the MI5 smartphone is said to be set at 1999 Yuan or $326. With respect to the outstanding configuration, the price looks absolutely OK, which will make the MI5 as a strong competitor in the global smartphone market. The MI5 is also going to be released in the US. The US consumers will be definitely interested to go after the device due to its logical price range.
It is not surprising to see the release of the MI5 in the US, as Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, expressed his extreme enthusiasm in ruling the international mobile market. He expected that the new smartphone will achieve a significant success outside the Chinese market.
However, it will be not an easy task for Xiaomi to rule the US smartphone market, which is being intensely dominated by Apple’s iPhone.
