A report out of France says that Apple will launch the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Force Touch this Wednesday as well as a new 27-inch iMac.
Apple released the first laptops with the new larger Force Touch enabled trackpad in March. The first models that include the new Force Touch have been the new MacBook and the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Now French MacG (via 9to5Mac) reports that Apple is releasing updated 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop with Force Touch this Wednesday. Watch for the Apple Store to go down for maintenance if true.
Update: Apple announced the rumored new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Force Touch trackpad and a new $1,999 iMac with Retina 5K already on Tuesday. The rumor was spot on, but missed the date.
Force Touch enhances Multi-Touch and adds force sensors that detect subtle differences in the amount of downward pressure you apply. This lets you have a deeper connection to your content, bringing more functionality right to your fingertip. Force Touch also introduces haptic feedback allowing you not just to see what’s happening on the screen, but to feel it.
Besides the Force Touch update the new 15-inch MacBook Pro will likely have newer CPUs and GPUs.
There are no new details on the new 27-inch iMac Apple is supposed to launch. It is also not known if the iMac update will be for the regular 27-inch iMac or the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display.
The next big Apple event will be the keynote at the WWDC 2015 taking place on June 8. Apple is rumored to launch the Apple Music streaming service as well as a new Apple TV at their annual developer conference. The event will also feature iOS 9 and OS X 10.11.
