Mexican actress Salma Hayek knows how to demolish everyone else on the red carpet. She appeared at the screening of the Drama Carol at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in purple gown showing of an overdose of cleavage. At 48 the Mexican actress is stunning as ever.

While playing her female qualities at the fullest on the red carpet, she took to a more serious topic in Cannes on Saturday. Hayek was speaking at a summit calling for greater gender equality in film. “Cinema undermines women’s intelligence,” said Hayek. “They don’t see us as a powerful economic force. It’s incredible ignorance. Hollywood doesn’t have this business vision.”

Salma Hayek appears in Matteo Garonne’s Cannes Film Festival competition entry The Tale of Tales. She plays the Queen in the Italian fantasy horror movie based on the 17th-century fairytale collection curated by Giambattista Basile. The movie also stars John C. Reilly.
