A security flaw was pointed out by OS X security expert Pedro Vilaca
A new security flaw was reported earlier today in the older Macs that were launched in the middle of the last year. The security flaw was reported by security analyst and expert Pedro Vilaca. He pointed out the problem that allows the hackers to control your Macs even after they are formatted. The problem basically is that security feature that protects the Macs from malware, doesn’t activate right at the moment when its turned on in older models.

Though to actually exploit it, the hacker needs to have physical access, which the hacker can do by accessing Safari remotely or by any other method. Pedro also added that this problem seems to be from day one and the flaw was reported in MacBook Pro Retina, MacBook Pro 8.2 and MacBook Air running the latest OS. He also said that the newly launched machines are found somehow to be not affected by it and possibility is that it’s because Apple knew about this and fixed it in the newer models.
He said that it won’t be an easy task to exploit it, but if an attacker succeed, he can control the Mac remotely. He mentioned specifically that pointing out the security flaw is not irresponsible as it’s important for somebody to point out a problem before taking a step in order to solve it. The only goal of mentioning it is to put pressure on the Cupertino Company to fix it like they did for newer models.
