Microsoft announced Halo 5: Guardians today. The game will be released in 2015.
Microsoft and 343 Industries announced Halo 5: Guardians today. Halo 5: Guardians is the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015.
Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4 says 343 Industries. That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine.
There are some core elements carried over from prior games, but there is new tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.
The first Halo game debuted in 2001. Halo franchise is the most important for the Xbox One. Halo 5 will be essential for Microsoft to battle the Sony PS4.
Besides the Halo 5 Xbox One game there will also come a Halo TV series in collaboration with Steven Spielberg scheduled for a fall 2015 release.
Love seeing all the #Halo 5: Guardians chatter, banners, avatars, etc. Thank you so much for the support today. We truly appreciate it! <3

Microsoft will reveal more details about Halo 5 at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9.
Microsoft would need Halo 5 already this fall. The lag the Sony PS4 in sales. Microsoft already announced earlier this week to remove Kinect from the Xbox One. A move to make the Xbox One equal in pricing with the Sony PS4. I am not sure if this is enough to beat the Sony PS4 this fall.
