Apple Starts Mass Production of only 4.7-Inch iPhone 6, Delays 5.5-Inch Model and iPads till Sep.

Apple has reportedly started the mass production of 4.7-inch iPhone 6 models while 5.5-inch model, iPad Air and iPad mini will go into mass production in September 2014.

Apple started the mass production of its 4.7-inch iPhone 6 versions while the mass production of larger iPhone version and iPad models will go into action later, reports Chinese media sources. 

These Chinese sources also claim that Apple will start mass production of 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models in September. It means that only the smaller iPhone 6 model will launch this fall while the launch of larger iPhone 6 version can be delayed as its launch date is still not confirmed.

Apple is also said to be working on its new iPad models. Next-generation iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display are also said to begin entering mass production in September. Earlier reports suggest that Apple will launch both its new iPad versions in October.

Apple is expected to announce its new Mac OS X Yosemite for the general public in October. And Apple’s much anticipated iWatch device is also said to launch in October. It is possible that Apple will announce both of its iPad models, iWatch and OS X Yosemite in a single launch event in October.

And some earlier reports also suggest that Apple has already asked its Asian suppliers to gear up to boost the production of new iPhones and iPads by as much as 85 percent by the fourth quarter of 2014. Apple’s main Chinese supplier Foxconn has reportedly bought 10,000 robots termed “Foxbots” at a cost of up to $25,000 each. And Foxconn might use these “Foxbots” to handle the production of Apple’s products.

Apple is anticipated to launch a strong lineup of devices with new product categories this fall that will be the best Apple has had in 25 years, according to recent comments made by some Apple executives.

Meanwhile, a Weibo user in China posted a promotion flyer in Chinese language for iPhone 6. This Chinese promotion flyer of iPhone 6 suggests that both a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model will be released in China simultaneously on September 19th.

The prices of both devices are also mentioned on the flyer that shows that 4.7-inch iPhone is priced at RMB $5,288 ($854 approx.) and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be priced at RMB$6,288 ($1016 approx.).
