Paula Patton’s husband Roin Thicke admits to drug abuse

Robin Thicke surprised us all when he dropped the veil off of his personal life after admitting about his serious drug abuse and shedding some light on what led to the split between him and his wife Paula Patton. He surprisingly also admitted being “high on Vicodin and alcohol” while he showed up to record his hit single “Blurred Lines.” He also revealed for the entire year while he was promoting his 2013 album he couldn’t find himself in a state to do one single sober interview.

“Every day I woke up, I would take a Vicodin to start the day and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews. I don’t recall many things that I said. In fact, I was quite surprised when I read them back sometimes.”

Thicke has more problems to deal with at this time because he is currently battling with the children of Marvin Gaye, who filed a lawsuit that accuses Thicke, Pharrell Williams and Clifford “T.I.” Harris Jr. of copying their father’s 1977 hit “Got to Give It Up.” The sworn testimony that came in from the singer was initially held confidential but it was revealed to the public for the first time on Monday in an LA federal court. According to Thicke his only intention has been to draw some inspiration from the music of Gaye by mixing it with his own but now he’s working on a different tune.

“I lied in my story so I could at least make it seem like, ‘Hey, I’m the guy who came up with this great idea,'” he said. “And you know what? I didn’t even use the Marvin Gaye thing until everyone started saying to me, ‘Hey, it’s reminiscent of the Marvin Gaye song.’ And I was like, ‘Well, yeah, that was my idea. I wanted to do something like that.’ There was no other way for me to get credit for the biggest song of the year unless it was my idea.” He also copped to lying about how involved he was in the creation of the track.

“After making six albums that I wrote and produced myself, the biggest hit of my career was written and produced by somebody else and I was jealous and I wanted some of the credit,” he said. “The reality is, is that Pharrell had the beat and he wrote almost every single part of the song.”
