Elizabeth Pena Died From Alcohol

When Elizabeth Pena was announced dead on October 14 at Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, most people were left wondering what could have caused the death of the 55 year old actress. Medical examinations carried out on her body have revealed that she suffered from internal bleeding at the time of her death. The report states that the abnormality was triggered by her habit of indulging in huge volumes of alcohol.

According to Inquisitr, the actress had been battling with the condition for quite some time. The condition is said to have worsened as her end time came close. The report indicates that the cirrhosis (cells inflammation) of her liver changed just before she passed on.

Pena’s death certificate shows that she had experienced extended periods of gastrointestinal problem which in return caused her heart to stop beating due to low supply of blood. Internal bleeding and liver cells inflammation are the two major causes that have been found to be behind her sudden death.

There are actually four causes that were listed including cardiogenic shock and cardiopulmonary arrest. Pena has left behind two kids, her husband, her sister and mother. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office, Craig Harvey, was quoted by US Today saying that the document was in deed signed by a private practitioner.

The actress has all along been fighting to change the public perception of Spanish people. The star was at one time in 1996 quoted Dallas Morning News as reported by Los Angeles Times saying that the people in US come from different backgrounds.

  “In the United States, all Spanish-speaking people are lumped into one category. But we’re all so different. Argentinians are completely different from Mexicans. Mexicans are completely different from Cubans. Cubans are completely different from people from Paraguay and Uruguay.”
