The supermodel Kate Moss has bagged a cameo role in the Yuletide film on the BBC titled “The Boy in the Dress”.
Kate Moss is famous as the taciturn and waif-like supermodel that used to appear in Calvin Klein ads. Now that she is in her middle age, Kate has entered many other fields, television being the latest one. From her Gogglebox act which was in support of cancer research to an appearance in David Walliams’ “The Boy in the Dress”, she is the bee’s knees right now.
The former event had her fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell and the musician Liam Gallagher by her side. As for the latter, it is a BBC1 dramatic loan-film which has been inspired by children’s literature. The movie will air on television on 25th December, 2014. Christmas time beckons! Kate is going to have the easy job of playing her own character on screen. Can acting get any smoother for a supermodel?
The Boy in the Dress will depict Dennis Sims, Meera Syal, James Buckley, Jennifer Saunders, and of course, Miss Kate Moss. According to Walliams, the book he wrote will be perfectly adapted for the screenplay. The scenes shown will make everybody take a pause and ponder over what it means to be totally at odds with everyone else on the planet.
The message of the movie is that just because you are different doesn’t make you an ugly human being. You are beautiful in your own way. It is hoped that this dream fantasy of a film will inspire many to act in a more humane way towards those who are eccentric or weird or even queer.
“We have put together a dream cast for this, the first of my children’s books and for many still my best,” said Walliams.”It is a funny and poignant story about what it is to be different. I hope it will make everyone who sees it, young and old, stop and think.”
Moss and Walliams have been pals since ages. In fact their intimacy goes back to the days before Walliams’ marriage to Lara Stone. Billy Kennedy will be “The Boy in the Dress” and he is named Dennis in the film. He will be inspired to dress differently after perusing the pages of a fashion glossy. One can only surmise that Kate will be the skeletal model who inspires Dennis’ passion for fashion.
