The camera of OPPO’s latest N3 smartphone is a gift for all selfie lovers. And OPPO also launched R5 smartphone that it claims to be the world’s slimmest smartphone.
OPPO revealed its new smartphone OPPO N3 today. Aside from the new collection of accessories the Chinese OEM also announced the OPPO R5 today. Both are exciting smartphones especially if you are in the Chinese market. The OPPO N3 turned out to be everything we had thought of it but the OPPO R5 successfully claimed the most craved title: the slimmest smartphone in the world.
The Chinese manufacturers especially are after this title of the slimmest smartphone. The OPPO R5 has an extremely thin profile of 4.85 mm. The thinnest up till now is BLU Products VIVO IV with its 5.5 mm profile. This means that the R5 is definitely one thin smartphone that would not make a bulge in your pockets and hopefully it would not bend either, given its 5.2-inch screen size.

Aside from its extremely thin built, the OPPO R5 sports a mix of high and low-end features. The 5.2-inch screen also has a resolution of 1080p and uses AMOLED display technology. This is supported by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, the chip maker’s first 64-bit octa-core processor which runs at a maximum of 1.7 GHz.
The camera is also an addition which ought to be mentioned as the R5 comes with a 13 megapixel sensor rear camera. The 2000 mAh battery is supported by OPPO’s VOOC Rapid Charge technology.
The OPPO N3 on the other hand as an auto-rotating camera which surely catches one’s eyes, as the 16 megapixel sensor camera is great for the photo lovers. The camera can be made to rotate from facing backwards to facing the forwards with a swipe of the screen in the camera app.

This feature is fit for selfies, OPPO is also selling it to another group of digital photographers and these include those who love to take panoramic shots. Additional plug-ins for the camera includes ‘Slow Shutter’, ‘Beautify’, ‘Super Macro’ and much more. The rest of the N3’s spec are good but disappoint at some instances.
This includes the processor that is a current gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with a large 3,000 mAh battery supported by a VOOC mini Rapid Charge. However one interesting feature of the N3 is what OPPO introduces as the Skyline Notification 2.0.
This instead of a single LED dot illuminates the bottom chin for notifications and just like any celebrated smartphone these days the OPPO N3 also has a fingerprint scanner just like the Apple’s touch ID. Moreover the N3 is a dual-SIM LTE phone and takes both Nano and Micro SIM’s.

The OPPO N3 is priced at $654 much higher than the OPPO R5 which is priced at $491 only. The OPPO has made good advancements with its N series especially the swivel camera /4/win some people over. Moreover OPPO will start to be seen in the market from next month but only in the Chinese market. The international market still has to wait and details for its international availability still has to be provided.
