The cast is coming together for the Walter Isaacson based bio pic
Biographical movies are typically a hard thing to pull off in the right way, but the Steve Jobs bio pic that is in the works looks like it might be one that has the right stuff to work. The writer and director are already set in stone, as is the person playing Jobs, but now more casting news is coming out.
On the production side, big names have been signed on to handle the movie. Danny Boyle is going to be behind the camera on the film after making a name for himself with movies like Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, and Slumdog Millionaire. Writing duties are being handled by none other than Aaron Sorkin, of The Newsroom, The West Wing, and The Social Network fame, who has already completed the script that reportedly takes place in three acts, before some of Apple’s major launches.
With the behind the scenes names in place, it has still been a question of who will star in it. After speculation and rumors of near signings, followed by dropping back out, Christian Bale is now slated to appear as the one and only Steve Jobs. For the other half of the Apple founding duo, the studio is reportedly in talks with Seth Rogan, although nothing is official just yet. That still leaves several potential roles open, although Jessica Christian is also being considered for an as of yet unspecified role.
While the script is complete, production is still a while off and it is unknown when the movie will eventually be released. Stay tuned for more as it becomes available, including whether or not Rogan officially joins the production.
