Amazon has again dropped the price of its Fire Phone. The unlocked version is now available at $199 with one year of Free Prime services.
Amazon has many unsold Fire Phones, but the most important question is how the retailer plan to sell all the phones present in their inventory. The most anticipated AT&T phone prices dropped after the first week of its release.
During an interview with Fortune, David Limp, the Senior Vice President of Amazon said that Amazon has overpriced the phone. Usually Amazon offers low prices on hardware as compared to its competitors, but this time the company made a mistake, according to Limp.
In addition to this, he said that the reason the company didn’t offer the right price for the mobile was because Amazon was stuck with the standard industry pricing. He also said that Amazon was not able to come up to peoples’ expectations as they were expecting something else and Amazon comprehended differently.
The phone has 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processors. Its 2 GB RAM enables quicker website load time, app launch time and smoother multi-tasking. The phone has the ability to support HD games and videos because of its Adreno 330 graphics processors.
Fire phone features four bands of GSM, five bands for UMTS and nine bands of 4G-LTE for faster data speed, better voice coverage and international roaming. The phone also supports Wi-Fi channel bonding, Bluetooth and NFC.
Its HD feature display allows dynamic image contrast, circular polarizer, wide viewing angle and bright display at 590 nits, thus making it very easy to see the screen in all kinds of lights including outdoors or indoors. Fire phone has the ability to deliver up to 285 hours of standby time, 65 hours of audio playback, 22 hours of talk time because of advanced power management technology.
Fire Phone has the smallest global shuttered camera in existence along with its real time computer vision algorithms and four infrared LEDs for unseen illumination. Now users can enjoy unlimited ad free streaming of hundreds of movies and TV seasons such as Marvel’s The Avengers, Star Trek into Darkness, Justified, Downton Abbey, Spongebob SquarePants, dozens of award-winning HBO shows. Users are also permitted to download numerous Prime Instant Video, TV shows and movies so that they can watch them anywhere, anyplace they want.
Prime Music allows unlimited download and streaming of more than hundred and thousands of songs from artist such as P!nk, Daft Punk, Madonna, The Lumineers and many more. Also, the users will be allowed to access playlists of other users. Not only this, they will also be allowed to create their own playlist.

The company still has $83 millions of unsold phones and the Fire phone’s page on Amazon reveals a 2 star customer rating. Problems such as Fire phone running out or very limited application are the major concerns of users.
However, the company is putting in effort in order to make the mobile more advance and high tech. According to Limp, Amazon has decided to make Fire phones software among the best and is working hard for it.
