Tim Cook sent out the annual Apple Holiday email to employees revealing the amount raised to fight AIDS last quarter.
Apple made a big announcement ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to donate a portion of the sales during these big shopping days to Bono’s Global Fund to fight AIDS. Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out the annual Holiday email to Apple employees revealing the amount Apple has donated to the Global Fund.
The total donation for this quarter will be more than $20 million, which is bringing the total amount Apple has raised for (PRODUCT) RED to over $100 million. Apple is supporting the Global Fund with Product (RED) since 8 years.
Besides the big donation, Tim Cook highlights in the employee email the 30th anniversary of the Mac and the 2014 Apple product releases including the iPhone 6 and iMac Retina 5K.
Tim Cook ends the email talking about the Apple Watch and how much work Apple employees put into the device.

Apple is of course not the only company supporting Product (RED). On the Red store you can buy many Product (RED) products through which you can support the cause. Featured right now is the mophie Product (RED) mobile battery selling for $79.95. 5% of the gross profits from each of the mophie sold go to the Global Fund.
