Apple’s new campaign titled “Start Something New” was debuted on its Japanese site earlier this week and it shows the individuals using Apple products and apps to make art and capture pictures. Today, the campaign has extended from over the boundaries of Japan and has spread to other countries as well including the US and many other locations in Europe and Asia. There is also a “Start Something New” micro site which has galleries which include art made with Apple products like the iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, and iMac.

The gallery on the site combines efforts from photography, painting, and sketching apps like Procreate, VSCO Cam, iDraw, Waterlogue, and Brushes 3. The company is also making efforts to highlight some individual creator stories by sharing the tools which were used by the users to create their own special art pieces. For instance, Japanese artist Nomoco makes use of the iPad Air 2 and the Brushes 3 app to make paintings.

“Nomoco’s approach to making art is organic and tactile. She is inspired by movement and light, and even the way an ink drop splashes can guide her next move. So when she painted digitally for the first time, it was natural for her to use her fingers. With iPad Air 2 and the Brushes 3 app, Nomoco was able to create this ethereal series exactly as she had imagined it.”

Other artists on the site make use of numerous photography and sketching apps which generate stylized photos and drawings. Some photographers also make use of the popular photo editing app VSCO Cam to edit their pictures and videographers make use of Apple apps like iMovie and Final Cut Pro.
