The Super Bowl 2015, Super Bowl 2015 (49) takes place on Sunday, February 1, 2014 in Glendale, Arizona. The Big Game will be played in the University of Phoenix stadium.

The Super Bowl XLIX will kick off at 6:30pm EST.

Super Bowl 2015 Stadium
The Super Bowl 2015 will take place in the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The University of Phoenix Stadium has a retractable roof and field and is unlike any other stadium in North America. This multi-purpose facility is home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and the Annual VIZIO Fiesta Bowl. The 63,400-seat stadium (expandable to 72,200) opened on August 1, 2006 after three years of construction. The ceremonial groundbreaking was held on April 12, 2003.

The Super Bowl 2015 stadium was designed by world-renowned architect Peter Eisenman. The exterior skin represents a barrel cactus. The construction features alternating sections of shimmering metal panels intended to reflect the shifting desert light alongside magnificent vertical glass slots allowing patrons a spectacular view of the horizon from any level of the exterior.

Super Bowl 2015 TV Broadcast
NBC is broadcasting the 2015 Super Bowl in the United States. The Super Bowl 2015 pre-game coverage starts hours ahead of the Super Bowl XLIX kickoff. In past years pre-game coverage started at noon Eastern.

Main National TV stations around the world will broadcast the big game as well, but you will not get to see the Super Bowl ads outside of the United States. Note that the Super Bowl 2015 will be streamed online this year again. The NBC Super Bowl online stream will be blocked for viewers outside of the United States.  

The Super Bowl will not be broadcasted in 4K Ultra HD. There are though reportedly 4K cameras at the Glendale stadium, but the footage of these cameras is not used for broadcast. The Super Bowl 2015 will be broadcasted as in previous years in HD.

For the fourth time ever the Super Bowl will be streamed online. Fans will be able to access the live stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Live Extra Apps the United States.

NBC offers the NBC Super Stream Sunday, which gives you access for free and without a cable or satellite provider account. This is great for cord cutters.

The latest is that Katy Perry is planning to diss Taylor Swift during her superbowl halftime performance. Katy Perry unveiled that Lenny Kravitz will join as Superbowl halftime performer. The NFL and NBC have unveiled who will sing the National Anthem on Jan. 16. Idina Menzel has the honors to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl 2015 on February 1. Last year opera star Renee Fleming performed the National Anthem.
