LG has displayed a fully working Open webOS-based smartwatch in synch with Audi vehicle partnership at the CES 2015. This is slated to fare well at the popular show.

When you gaze at the most hottest and miraculous of smartwatches at the CES 2015 you realize for the first time that it comes courtesy of none other than LG. And Life’s Good indeed if you have it strapped onto your wrist.

LG and Audi cooperated and their bond led to the two making music in the form of this smartwatch. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the board of management of AUDI AG, Technical Development, teased this LG Smartwatch while revealing Audi’s hybrid concept car.

“With my LG Smartwatch Audi edition, I will call the car on stage,” Hackenberg said during his speech that he delivered during the Audi press conference at the International CES 2015.

“With connected smart devices like this Smartwatch, you have any kind of car-related information on hand. Even more, this Smartwatch is a safe and convenient mobile key. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with LG, we can show you this kind of smart interaction today. I would like to take the opportunity to thank LG for all of their efforts to move this project forward.”

Although according to Audi it is merely a preliminary step yet it is a jewel of a watch and both Audi and LG ought to be given the thumbs up for a job well done. The future looks bright ahead if this is the trend that both companies are following.

In other words there is more to come and the audience had better be prepared for some pleasant surprises. The Audi/LG smartwatch runs on Open webOS instead of Android Wear, according to Android Central. Now this is a totally radical software.

WebOS was begun by Palm and it is formidable stuff. LG made heaven and earth meet in order to bring webOS to wearables. And it was apparently successful in its venture. By clicking the middle icon of the smartwatch a whole list of applications comes up.

These include within their purview: dialing device, message receiver, songs list, calendar, electronic mail facility and a health monitor. As for the Audi application, it allows cruise control as far as the vehicle is concerned.

There are still many other apps present on the LG smartwatch that don’t need going into. There is even a microphone available within the texture of the smartwatch. It is a unique and singular technological marvel.

There are many functions to this watch and it is not a simple device. Created from stainless steel and sapphire crystal, it is waterproof to boot. Plus its beautiful exterior makes it a sight that is easy on the eyes. It has yet to be given a proper name though.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip lies at its center. The display of this smartwatch at the CES 2015 was more of a trailer and teaser campaign of sorts. There remains some mystery and mystique about this smartwatch that is an act of co-creation by LG and Audi.
