SmartLink works with indoor and outdoor running
Octane Fitness is well known for their offerings and technology in the low to no impact cardiovascular exercise field. The company this week has been exhibiting at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2015 taking place in Las Vegas. Octane Fitness has been showcasing their new SmartLink app that is compatible with their ZeroRunner eliptical and other smartwatches that are out on the market. SmartLink is a highly sophisticated app that is able to give a person precise workout data, regardless if they are running indoors or outdoors.
Octane Fitness engineers are showing much pride in the work of the SmartLink app due to the fact that some of the best in the business when it comes to health monitoring and their devices worked on the project. The SmartLink app works in conjunction with the ZeroRunner and is able to keep track of calories burned, pace, and how many miles a person /4/have walked or ran. They can be indoors on the ZeroRunner and track their progress with the SmartFit app and then go outside and run and still be able to keep track of the same information. Octane says that this new technology certainly helps with the prevention of injuries that most runners face over the course of their training careers. SmartLink has been showcased all this week at CES 2015 but will not be available on the consumer market until March.
SmartLink was first set to be released as an iPad app last year but the new and improved version will be done in an Android version as well. Engineers say that eventually SmartLink will be able to work with any device that has a BlueTooth USB 4.0 port and that updates to the app will allow people to be able to get the full benefits of their workouts regardless if they are training indoors or outdoors.
