Water protection system detects frozen pipes
Weather is making its presence known throughout over half of the the United States this week. The temperature though in Las Vegas for the International Consumer Electronics Show has been a hot one and some of the newest and innovative technologies in the consumer electronics market are front and center. One new product that would be helpful during these cold times is the leakSMART water protection system by Waxman Industries. leakSMART is geared to be able to shut off a person’s main water supply when pipes are at freezing levels and it can also detect if there is a leak in the pipes.
Next to hurricanes and tornadoes, winter storms is the third leading damage catalyst when it comes to homes. With winter storms, there was nearly $2 billion in damage in the United States alone in 2014. The leakSMART system is attached to a home’s main water supply and then there are waterproof sensors located near water supply fixtures such as those that are located in the kitchen and bathroom. When the outside temperature falls to freezing levels, the system can be set to shut down the entire water supply. The leakSMART system can be set to shut off and monitor at various temperatures and better yet it can be monitored by an app where a person can manually cut off the water supply themselves.
All of the technology that is associated with the leakSMART is patented and original to Waxman Industries. The app and system can be linked with other smart home technologies as well. Waxman Industries has been at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2015 all this week and the Cleveland, Ohio based Waxman Industries can be contacted through their official website and can also be contacted at CES 2015 in Vegas until the closing of the event on Friday.
