Amazon is to produce films for theatrical consumption and Prime Instant Video and it will hopefully be an instant hit with the crowd of movie lovers.
The initiative by Amazon is to enter its production stage by the middle of 2015 and it will be introducing more than a dozen films to audiences in theaters throughout the US of A. Within one or two months of their launch in theaters, the movies will hit Prime Instant Video.
And the CEO of this whole shebang is none other than Ted Hope. Amazon Studios happens to be renowned for such movies as Transparent, Tumble Leaf and Mozart in the Jungle.
Starting from the present date in time, movies will be churned out and redistributed for individual and mass consumption in theaters and on the Prime Instant Video forum.
Usually it is eons before a movie appears, however in the case of Amazon’s movies, barely four to eight weeks will elapse before they appear on the screens for the sheer benefit of cultural consumers.
The films will not be the usual run-of-the-mill type of narratives that have become so common. They will instead be very subtle and original voices and moving images that will get conveyed to age-appropriate audiences for pleasurable viewing.
The whole venture is all set to undergo expansion into a series of feature films. With 12 movies appearing per year in theaters, the viewership will be hopping glad.
The steps being taken are meant not only to benefit consumers but production teams elsewhere too. Those directors who want their movies to reach the target audience in a quick and deft manner can easily rely on Amazon Studios to fulfill their dreams.
The scheme is spearheaded by Ted Hope, who is a film ace par excellence. He used to head a firm named Good Machine, that churned out famous movies such as Eat Drink Man Woman and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
His unique filmography has earned him many Academy Awards nominations and a BAFTA or two. He is also the winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Amazon stated in its press release that Amazon Studios will produce and debut four original series this year. These include Bosch, Hand of God, Red Oaks and Wishenpoof. And Amazon Studios will also debut Transparent’s second season in 2015.
Amazon is not the first service provider which is going to stream more online movies and TV series per month. HBO is also planning to launch its own streaming service this year. Dish TV has already announced Sling TV. And now its turn for Amazon. The streaming race has begun.
People everywhere sure are excited about this new direction in movie-making and film-mania. Amazon’s journey began with television and has now entered silver screen territory.
In its competition with Netflix, Amazon has simply outdone itself. Its broadening of its domain and horizon will mean even more cooler entertainment at a faster pace. The gap between the launch of a movie and its consumption will be bridged thanks to Amazon’s efforts.
