The Apple Watch is a feature packed smart watch with inspirational UI. As I already noted in a report in December, the battery life of the Apple Watch will be the key downfall. In a mixed use the Apple Watch is supposed to work for 19 hours until battery runs out.
The Apple Watch is just as bad as all other smart watches on the market. As said in December, Apple should have focused on battery life and not on packing every feature they could think off into the Apple Watch.
To all you Apple Watch game developers that just got some attention this week. Forget gaming on the Apple Watch. Gaming will drain the Apple Watch battery in a flash.
Apple needs to urgently make either battery life of the Apple Watch better (Apple Watch 2) or find a way to constantly charge the Apple Watch. Solar, body movement or wireless near-field charging like the Drayson Wireless near-field systems. Wireless charging over short distances will be the likely future solution for wearable device charging. Just imagine your wearable charges via the iPhone or a Macbook while keeping wearing the Apple Watch. No need to take off your wearable anymore – it will be charged all the time.
