SNL 40 Live Anniversary Special is Tonight

The SNL 40 anniversary special is set to be huge. There will be tons of surprises including a ‘NSync reunion.

Saturday Night Live, NBC’s Emmy Award-winning late-night comedy show is in its 40th season. On October 11, 1975 SNL has launched and became a platform that launched countless careers of comedians. SNL has won 45 Emmy Awards and now holds the title for the most nominated television show in Emmy history with 187 nominations.

Today NBC will celebrate the SNL 40 with a 3.5 hour live show stating at 8/7c. The red carpet coverage of SNL 40 starts an hour earlier. The SNL 40 live show is set to be must see TV event. We already know that ‘NSync will have a reunion including Justin Timberlake. The group has made the announcement on Twitter.

There will be many surprises that will highlight the history of SNL spawing 40 years.

Besides the SNL 40 live show, NBC has released the first SNL App that offers unique access to over 5,500 sketches from 800 episodes. So you can easily find the classic sketch you and your father laughed tears 30 years ago.

The SNL app for iPhone is available for free on the iTunes App Store and is coming soon to Android phones.

SNL airs usually on Saturday as the name implies.
