It seems Ronan will get a new show with the MSNBC even after the cancellation of his “Ronan Farrow Daily” show.
After one year of the Ronan Farrow Daily, MSNBC has decided to cancel the show in order to increase its news coverage in the daytime according to sources. Even though the show is being cancelled, Ronan Farrow will still be involved with the network but in a new gig.
According to Huffington Post, Ronan will get a series of interview driven prime-time specials and will continue his partnership with the NBC News Investigative Unit. He and Joy Ann Reid whose show got dropped from the network will now work with the Bridge which is the network’s editorial news hub directing coverage for digital and dayside.
Farrow did not confirm anything directly about this news but he tweeted saying that is very excited about the new role and there is more to come soon.
Excited about new role – more to come soon.— Ronan Farrow (@RonanFarrow) February 19, 2015
Before joining MSNBC, 27-year-old had worked as a foreign policy official in the first Barack Obama administration. According to E! News, it was Ronan who founded the State Department’s Office of Global Youth Issues and reported to the Secretary of State as the United States first Advisor for Global Youth during the Arab Spring revolutions.
Now after the shows have been cancelled both Ronan Farrow and Joy Reid are shifting from being anchors to tackling new roles as roving correspondents as MSNBC changes its daytime lineup.

This change comes because the NBC Universal bale news outlet has suffered significant ratings decline in recent years and now it wants to regain lost territory. That is why Farrow will now get a role as special correspondent who will to prime-time specials and other programs rather than host his own show.
Moreover Reid will now be seen on the position of national correspondent. Then there is Thomas Roberts who has been hosting an early morning news program will now anchor the network between 1 and 3 p.m.
Now under this new structure by MSNBC both Farrow and Reid will focus on getting bigger stories from the field. Reid will become the first reporter for NowThisNews which is a distributor of videos through digital and social media outlets such as Vine and Instagram which is partially owned by NBC Universal.
It seems that the network has been stocking its ranks of contributors as MSNBC listed a number of new personalities which included Janet Mock and Josh Barro to staff its new Shift video-streaming hub. Moreover these digital staffers are also appearing on the flagship cable outlet. This included Tom Colicchio as its first food correspondent and he will now host a show on Shift while also contributing across its daytime and primetime schedule.
Well the changes to the 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. hours were essential for MSNBC as both of these slots were losing out on ratings and were at an all-time low. So the network had to cover more breaking news during the afternoon as this is something that is still working for their competitors such as Fox News Channel and CNN.
