The run of Fifty Shades of Grey is over. The new action movie Focus starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie is the new #1 at the domestic box office.
Will Smith is back big time. The new con man action movie Focus took the weekend box office in the US with $19.1m in ticket sales according to Rentrak. Fifty Shades of Grey slid down to #4 this weekend passed by Kingsman and Spongebob.
Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame has become an accomplished femme fatale and shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes race-car circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she messes up his plans and throws the con man off his game.
“Focus” is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa (“Crazy, Stupid, Love.”).
Margot Robbie has risen to fame with her role in Wolves of Wall Street. The rumors of Will Smith and her having an affair helped making her name known around the globe. Margot Robbie revealed in her Bazaar cover interview that she had to slap Leonardo DiCaprio to the get that role.
Robbie’s upcoming movies include Tarzan, Fun House and Suicide Squad. Will Smith is joining her again in Suicide Squad. Smith’s other upcoming movies include Concussion, Selling Time, The American Clan, and wait for it,… Bad Boys 3.
