Some of the movies at Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) 2015 will be featuring Russell Brand, Noam Chomsky, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mary J. Blige.
At this year’s Tribeca Film Festival there are a number of different films that are set for special screening. Some of the movies include a new zombie flick that will be pairing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin and a documentary that will be dedicated to the life and influence of the late DJ AM. The Spotlight section of the festival will boast 40 films in total and will include Anesthesia, Aloft, Among the Believers, Angry Sky, Bleeding Heart and many more.
Kevin Kerslake the music doc veteran has written and directed As I AM: the Life and Times of DJ AM. This documentary will basically examine Adam Goldstein’s remarkable rise from mash up pioneer to the first million dollar DJ. The documentary will also show the musicians struggle with drug addiction that finally led to his untimely death in 2009.
The zombie film that we talked about earlier is ‘Maggie’ and is directed by Henry Hobson and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin. Arnold will be playing the role of Wade, a father who has to protect his daughter from the authorities looking to eradicate anyone with the zombie virus and Breslin will be seen as Maggie who becomes sick with the zombie virus.
Both the documentary and Maggie are featured to be in the festival’s Spotlight section. This section is said to also include Mojave which is written and directed by the Oscar winning writer William Monahan who is famous for the movie ‘The Departed’. Oscar Isaac will be starring in Mojave which is a story of a Hollywood director who comes across a drifter that claims to be the devil.
Apart from this actor Nick Sandow will also be premiering his new film ‘The Wannabe’ which has been executive produced by Martin Scorsese and will be starring Vincent Piazza and Patricia Arquette. The movie is quite exciting from what it story tells us as Piazza and Arquette begin robbing the New York mafia elite.
Moreover we will also be seeing documentary’s such as Roseanne for President in the Spotlight documentary selections. This documentary basically chronicles Roseanne Barr’s 2012 presidential campaign.
There are also two other films also that will be seen at the festival which discuss the causes and current state of income inequality in the United States of America. These include ‘The Emperors New Clothes’ by Russell Brand and Michael Winterbottom and ‘Requiem for the American Dream’ which is said to be centered on a series of interviews with the one and only Noam Chomsky.
The Tribeca Festival apart from these screenings also has a lot of other special events lined up for the viewers this year. This will include a concert from Mary J. Blige at the Beacon Theatre following a viewing of Mary J. Blige: London Sessions and a presentation of Harold Lloyd’s silent comedy classic ‘Speedy’ which will also include a new soundtrack.
The soundtrack will be performed live by DJ Z-Trip. The full list and schedule of the Tribeca Film Festival will be made available on its website pretty soon. This year’s Tribeca Film Festival will be taking place from the 15th of April till the 26th of April.
