Celine Dion will resume Las Vegas Residency in Late August

46-year-old singer, Celine Dion’s rep has stated that she will return to the stage in August as she has to take time off in order to support her husband during cancer treatment.

Celine Dion rep has stated that she will resume her residency at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas in late August and this time with a new act. The 46 year old singer had announced last year that she was taking a rest from the stage in order to care for her husband Rene Angélil who had been diagnosed with cancer.

Celine Dion is the mother of three children with Rene and in a recent interview she talked about her emotional decision to take a leave from the stage for the first time. She also explained about the difficult struggle she has had to help her husband battle cancer and her life with her family of five.

According to ABC News, this interview with Dion will be aired next week on “Good Morning America” and “Nightline.” She stated that all of this is very emotional for her and she thinks that the emotions will grow even more as the date gets closer. In the end she stated that she promises all her fans that there will be high and happy notes once again.

Celine Dion has been on the Vegas strip since early 2002. However she decided to bring her renowned and successful show to a temporary stop in August. Celine’s 73 year old husband is battling the second round of throat cancer and Celine wants to spend all the time she has with him.

At the time Celine Dion was leaving, Caesars Palace sent out an official to explain everything. The statement said that Celine has decided to postpone all of her shows temporarily because she wants to focus all her attention towards her husband Rene and their family.

The statement also explained that the couple has been having quite a difficult time since Rene’s last surgery in December that was in order to remove a cancerous tumor. According to the statement of Caesars Palace it seems that the 46 year old singer is also facing health issues as she is fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles.

That is why Celine has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows since her last one on July 29th. Moreover it has been confirmed that she hasn’t till now recovered from this condition.

Celine had joined Caesars Palace back in 2003 with a three year, 600 show contract to appear five nights a week at the 4000 seat Colosseum arena. Moreover the interesting thing is that the Colosseum arena was built only for her show. Let’s wish Celine Dion returns back to the stage as soon as possible!
