iOS 7.1 to Launch Ahead of iTunes Festival to Stream Event

Apple is said to launch the public version of iOS 7.1 ahead of its next week’s iTunes Festival. As the app that will stream the event on iOS devices requires iOS 7.1. Apple’s first Tunes Festival in the United States will start on March 11th at SXSW in Austin on 7:30 PM CST.

The famous Apple pundit John Gruber has connected the launch of Apple’s new iOS 7.1 with its first iTunes Festival. John Gruber reported on Tuesday that Apple is going to stream its upcoming festival performances live at SXSW. And a “little birdie” told Gruber that the app which will live stream Apple’s first iTunes Festival performances on iOS devices, require iOS 7.1.

And this clearly links the launch of the new iOS 7.1 with Apple’s first iTunes Festival in the United States that will start next week on March 11th at SXSW in Austin. The SXSW iTunes Festival will start off with performances of Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and London Gram/3/on March 11 at 7:30 PM CST. If the said app that will stream iTunes Festival really requires iOS 7.1, the public version of the operating system can be launched “any day now”.

Apple has already launched 5 beta versions of iOS 7.1. The 5th developer preview of iOS 7.1 was released a month ago. And it was already reported a few days ago that Apple would be launching the public version of iOS 7.1 in March. But Apple has still not released a Golden Master build for developers. “Apple’s first iTunes Festival in the U.S. starts a week from today at SXSW in Austin. Apple is going to stream the performances to iOS devices using an app, but I’ve heard from a little birdie that the app requires iOS 7.1 (which explains why the app isn’t out yet). That means iOS 7.1 should ship any day now.”

The SXSW iTunes Festival will start with performances of Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, and London Gram/3/on March 11th at 7:30 PM CST.
